You can bill for CPU cycles, for disc space used, and for bandwidth. You can sell it using phrases like "scalability" and "pay as you go", but the best thing is you can obfuscate the costs making it difficult for clients to compare (unlike a VM). There is nothing new behind cloud computing, it's just a bunch of old technologies duct taped together. If you want to build your own public or private cloud, install Ubuntu and after install OpenStack. * http://www.ubuntu.com/ * http://openstack.org/ Just out of interest, why would you want one VM spanning multiple machines?
