We also chose phpunit. We can not say that the choice was difficult, because the choice comes from a few alternatives. Very similar to phpunit - simpletest ( http://www.simpletest.org/en/start-testing.html ) , but due to the need of using automated tests for selenium ( http://seleniumhq.org/projects/remote-control ) choice stopped on phpunit.
