Ltd This from the U-Boot archive: http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2005-March/009317.html The method is to program the ethernet controller/PHY for loopback mode, then issue a 'ping' (ARP request) to the MAC id of the device. If everything works, you'll have a successful command status returned from your network stack. You will also need a loopback plug (google for help on this). Hope this helps.
